In a little more than one year since launching our Innovate publication on Medium, we have produced nearly 40 original stories about the diverse media, minds, and technologies that are fueling the rapidly emerging New Sports Economy.
Of course, any time you create something from scratch—no matter how amazing the product, service, or experience—you technically start from zero. Luckily, it’s 2018 AD and not 2018 BC so word can and does spread fast, especially when you’ve already created a community and built a tribe. It didn’t take long for Innovate.
From the time we pushed the site live and hit publish on the first few stories in January 2017, our Innovate audience has grown steadily. Thousands of people have consumed our thought leadership by spending more than 40,000 minutes (nearly 7,000 hours) reading stories and watching videos about the shifting paradigms redefining an industry.
Today, I’m excited to announce the relaunch of Innovate by Hashtag Sports. While Medium was a cost-effective and efficient publishing platform to start our publication, we’ve outgrown our first home.
By migrating to WordPress, numerous opportunities are now enabled for our editorial and curation team. Marketing will also receive a lift as we will now have a much deeper analytical insight into our community and the types of stories that resonate the most with you. We’ll also have a better brush available to paint our picture.
Over the ensuing weeks and months, we will expand our editorial coverage to tell more stories, provide deeper insights, and further showcase the diverse talent and organizations challenging the status quo.
We have only scratched the surface. You create, we celebrate.
